Portugal and Spain have shared the romantic and rugged coastline, from which with some luck, you can see the outlines of black Africa. We went into this area to experience the spring in Portugal.

As a member of The Czech Federation of Photographic Art, my work was a part of our national collection for FIAP 23rd Colour Print Biennial in Ireland, Dundalk. I’m very happy that my photo got 20 points from 20 and helped our collection to get 9th place from 50. It is the best place Czech Republic ever had. (continue reading…)

Tomorrow, I’m leaving to the US for a business trip and vacation. I’ll visit Florida and then west coast – Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Death Valley, Grand Canyon, Canyonlands, Arches, Bryce, Zion, Yosemite, San Francisco. I’ll be in the US for 3 weeks, so in this time, I’ll not update my blog. But stay tuned for photos from this trip .

Photoshelter? Flickr? Smugmug? Twitter? Facebook? The best blog for photographers? What to choose for a photographer’s internet presentation? For a long time I struggled with how to solve photos presentation and backuping of my photos. Photos publishing, get your photos criticized from your fans to provide close-ups for print or download and keep things running, and look good and performs all the functions, it is not entirely easy.

I like criticism, so I like my pictures to publish and track views on them, check out comments etc. I am paranoid toward the backing up, so it backs up, backs up and backs up. I’ve published my first photography book via Blurb. The book is based on my project Magical Places – photographies from all parts of the world, almost in HDR. Magical Places Photography book has 64 pages and its divided into three parts – Mountains, Coasts and Forrests & Countrysides.

The book contains photos from Czech Republic, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Andorra, Spain, Portugal, United Kingdom, Ireland, Greece, Cuba and Maldives. A lot of photos are High Dynamic Range photos.

This photo was taken on one of the 1000 islands of Maldives this year. We’ve visited some local islands with our friend Ahmed Zahid and take some shots of local life. Beatiful sea, boats, nice beaches, sandbanks…paradise.

I’ve decided to move my photographic websites and galleries to the one place. I had a personal photographic website on MobileMe with some galleries, next photos on Flickr, blog on Molcan.cz, NikonClub.cz etc…

I’m now migrating all my data to my new photoshelter account and my new photographic blog. Hope that you will enjoy my new website and my new blog where I plan to publish fresh photos and stories regularly. I’ve also decided to write in English although my English is not very good – but I’ll try to talk to you through the photos, not words.

This is one of my first shots with Leica M8 rangefinder camera. It was taken one nice morning on the Castle Loucen. My wife was taking a morning bath in a nice mansion bathroom…
