The Spring in Portugal

by admin on May.12, 2010, under travelling

One of the most interesting parts of Europe for the warmer weather enthusiasts is no doubt part of the southwestern Iberian Peninsula. Portugal and Spain have shared the romantic and rugged coastline, from which with some luck, you can see the outlines of black Africa. We went into this area to experience the spring in Portugal.

Cuba – The Queen Of Caribbean

by admin on Mar.07, 2010, under travelling

“Earth! The most beautiful country I’ve ever seen!” is written in the logbook of Christopher Columbus in 1492, when his ship was reaching the Cuban shores. Cuba is a country that is very often presented in a rather distorted way today because of the political situation. My article covers the beautiful nature, rich culture and friendly people the largest island in the Caribbean.

Sunset on Cuba

by admin on Jan.28, 2010, under photos

Cuba, Trinidad – the most beautiful beaches on Cuba and one of the most beautiful beaches all the world. You can walk for hours alone on this nice coast. This photo is taken on the Trinidad’s beach only a few steps from our hotel. I like the contrast of the sea, clouds and the fresh green leaves of the tree behind.

Taken with my Nikon D3 and HDR processed.

Scotland: Bell Rock Lighthouse

by admin on Jan.25, 2010, under photos, video

I love lighthouses. Unfortunatelly, there are not lighthouses in our country, so I need to travel to see some of the most interesting. Last year, we did a trip to Scotland to one of the most famous lighthouses on the world – The Bell Rock Lighthouse. Bell Rock Lighthouse is the world’s second oldest surviving sea-washed lighthouse and was built on Bell Rock (also known as Inchcape) in the North Sea, 12 miles off the coast of Angus, Scotland, east of the Firth of Tay. Standing at 35 m high, the light is visible from 35 statute miles inland.

The masonry work on which the light house rests was constructed to such a high standard that it has not been replaced or adapted in almost 200 years. The lamps and reflectors were replaced in 1843, with the original equipment being used in the lighthouse at Cape Bonavista, Newfoundland where they are currently on display. The working of the lighthouse has been automated since 1988.

We had a trip to the Bell Rock Lighthouse on a small boat and it is really stunning to see it. There is a lot of sea-washed lighthouses on the world, see the video how hard it must be to be a lighthouse keeper.

Papuchalk on Skellig Islands

by admin on Jan.12, 2010, under photos

The Atlantic Puffin is a seabird species in the auk family. It is a pelagic bird that feeds primarily by diving for fish, but also eats other sea creatures, such as squid and crustaceans. Its most obvious characteristic is its brightly coloured beak during the breeding seasons. Also known as the Common Puffin, it is the only puffin species which is found in the Atlantic Ocean. The curious appearance of the bird, with its colourful huge bill and its striking piebald plumage, has given rise to nicknames such as “clown of the ocean” and “sea parrot”.

Photo taken on Skellig Islands in Ireland, 2009.

Ireland: Dingle

by admin on Jan.05, 2010, under photos

Once cited as ‘the most beautiful place on earth’ by the National Geographic. Was voted among the top 100 destinations in the world by Trip Advisor. On my trip to Ireland in 2009, we’ve travelled the Dingle coast and it was one of the most beautiful parts of the trip. Dingle is one of the most attractive coast sides I’ve ever seen.
