A morning in Bohemian Switzerland (Rynartice)

by admin on Aug.01, 2010, under photos

After a very long time, thanks to my friend Víťa, I’ve taken some fresh pictures of Bohemian Switzerland. Waking up in 4am and on the place at 4,30am – a really fresh morning! The weather was not perfect, but the national park is beautiful in any conditions…

All my shots are taken with Nikon D700 + Nikkor 24-70f2.8

Sunrays near Black Gate

by admin on Jun.03, 2010, under photos

One of my most favorite places in Bohemian Switzerland National Park – forrests around The Black Gate. A rock arch in the Wild Gorge (Divoká soutěska) by the mouth of the Red Brook (Červený potok) into the Křinice River at the turn of the blue trail leading from Brtníky to Rynartice. One of the most romantic spots in Bohemian Switzerland.

A morning in The Bohemian Switzerland National Park

by admin on May.09, 2010, under photos

I live in a very small village Doubice in The Bohemian Switzerland National Park. The village is situated at the border of Bohemian Switzerland and the Lusatian Mountains consists of two parts – Old and New Doubice – which merged with the housing development consisting in a number of vernacular buildings.

Boreal Owl (Aegolius funereus)

by admin on Feb.17, 2010, under photos

Another shot from National Park Bohemian Switzerland – wildlife workshop with Ondra Prosický in 2009. Aegolius funereus breeds in dense coniferous forests also across northern North America, and in mountain ranges such as the Alps and the Rockies. It lays 3-6 eggs in a tree hole. Across much of Europe, and to a lesser extent in Asia and North America, naturalists and biologists put up nest boxes for these and other small owls.

Nikon D3, Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8 + TC – ISO 800, 400mm

This smallish owl eats mainly voles and other mammals but also birds as well as insects and other invertebrates. It is largely nocturnal, though in the northern most parts of its range, it is forced to hunt during daylight because of the very short nights in summer.

My first shot with Leica M8 camera near Black Gate. A rock arch in the Wild Gorge (Divoká soutěska) by the mouth of the Red Brook (Červený potok) into the Křinice River at the turn of the blue trail leading from Brtníky to Rynartice. One of the most romantic spots in Bohemian Switzerland.

Bohemian Switzerland: Morning

by admin on Jan.12, 2010, under photos

Vysoká Lípa, Bohemian Switzerland, Czech Republic. One of the best places to take nice shots of our countryside. I’ve made this shot more years ago with my first DSLR – Nikon D50 and the basic lens Nikkor 18-55, without tripod (!). But it is one of my favorite photos.

The village is one of the oldest settlements in the area. It is a part of Jetřichovice. In the 16th century it was the place of a hunting lodge, and a cattle farm with a mansion and a gamekeeper’s house were built in the 18th century. The village is now a leisure resort with a uniquely preserved centre consisting of prime examples of vernacular architecture. Vysoká Lípa was declared a rural historical preserve in 1995.

Our village chapel

by admin on Jan.03, 2010, under photos

This photo is a history. It is taken one chilly autumn morning only a few meters from my home, but the village chapel was reconstructed in the last weeks. The new one is not so simple and nice so I’m happy that I have this photo.

Fairy tale – Vysoká Lípa (Bohemian Switzerland)

by admin on Dec.25, 2009, under photos

Looks like a view to a fairytale. This is one of my favorite photos taken in Vysoká Lípa, Bohemian Switzerland, Czech Republic. There is a nice view point on “Zámecký Hill” from where you can see the village of Vysoká Lípa, “Růžovský Hill” and other beatiful hills of National Park Bohemian Switzerland.
